If you love a good tribute show (and who doesn’t?) then you’re in luck because there are some great ones happening across Penrith this month. Classical, Motown, Country and Pop – take your pick and enjoy.
Songs in the Key of Motown
This style of soul music has a distinct pop influence made popular by the Jackson 5, the Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye – just to name a few. This outstanding live show at Penrith Panthers on 8 June brings all these fan-favourites to the stage over two hours from 8pm-10pm in an all-singing and all-dancing tribute show.
Two Grands, Four Hands
The beautiful Allan Mullins Studio in the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre comes alive with the sounds of Mozart, Schumann and Rachmaninov in this special two-piano recital by Jennifer Hammond & Frank O’Brien on 16 June. The performance runs from 6pm-8pm. Tickets $25 ($20 Concession, $10 Students) and you get a glass of bubbly and nibbles after the show. Nice.
Think Pink
If you love Pink then look no further because the ultimate Pink tribute show is at Penrith Panthers on 23 June. Get all your girlfriends together for a fun Saturday night out as the amazing Kylie L Clarke performs all of Pink’s greatest hits and some of her newest releases in a high-energy show that will leave you breathless.
An evening with Rod and Sir Elton, The Dream Concert
No you’re not dreaming, this is The Dream Concert. Penrith hosts a tribute show to two of the world’s most iconic entertainers at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre on 27 June. Internationally acclaimed tribute artist Dave Patten transforms into Rod Stewart and Shannon G Brown, formerly of the Ten Tenors, and delivers the powerhouse piano and vocals of Sir Elton John. Tickets just $20 – you don’t want to miss it.
The Everly Brothers and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons
If you like male harmonies then you’ll no doubt love the magical hits and soaring voices of the Everly Brothers and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. This month sees vocal harmony duo The Robertson Brothers & Simon Brook McLachlan perform all their greatest hits on stage at Penrith Panthers on 30 June. It’s going to be ‘Oh what a night’ alright.
