It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and there’s plenty of ways to celebrate the festive season this month.
Sydney Santa Spectacular 24 November – 26 December
If you want to completely immerse yourself in the festive spirit then this is the event for you. The Sydney Santa Spectacular has transformed the Exhibition Tent at Penrith Panthers into the Christmas wonderland of your dreams. Tickets are $40 per person (Children under 2yrs old FREE) or you can purchase four tickets for $35 each.
Each ticket gets you three-hours access to ice-skating on the Magical Chrystal Ice Rink, Ferris Wheel rides on the illuminated Ferris Wheel, Australia’s largest teacup ride, and the Interactive Enchanted Forest with snow falling, carolers singing, spectacular displays, animatronic house displays and over 200,000 lights!
Christmas Comedy Cracker 6 December 8-10pm
Un-wrap a hilarious early Christmas present with a star-studded line-up of the funniest comedians Australia has to offer at the Christmas Comedy Cracker at Penrith Panthers. This two-hour showcase includes well-known and loved comedians Akmal and Dilruk Jayasinha, and many more comedians who will leave you in stitches. Don’t wait for laughs from a dodgy Christmas cracker, head into the festive season with a stocking full of laughter. Tickets $37.50, bookings essential.
A Little Christmas Magic 14 December 12-3pm
Head to Penrith Panthers for A Little Christmas Magic – the ultimate Christmas event including lunch and entertainment. During the luncheon you’ll enjoy the soulful sounds of multi-instrumentalist and singer Chris Gable, followed by the remarkable Karen Beckitt. These talented performers will bring to you the absolute joy of Christmas this season, you’ll be thoroughly entertained and ready for the Christmas season ahead.
What’s on the menu? You’ll enjoy a sumptuous two-course lunch with all the trimmings; slow roast lamb rump with garlic mash, fennel carrots and rosemary served alternatively with roast chicken breast with roast root vegetables, semi-dried tomato, oregano and aioli. And of course traditional Christmas desserts including pudding with glazed fruit and custard and Pavlova with fresh fruit and coulis. Tickets $47.70 (members) $54.45 (visitors), bookings essential.
Deck the Halls 18 December
Sit back and be enthralled by a musical extravaganza that will put you in the mood for the festive season. Deck the Halls at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre features The Royal Australian Navy Band Sydney, under the musical direction of Lieutenant Brian O’Kane. This is the first time the band has appeared at The Joan and will be performing songs from great musicals, some with a touch of jazz and all with a Christmas theme. Tickets $20 each, bookings essential.
