Windows on Queen Opening

Queen Street Riches and Textures 2018 Community engagement celebration event, Official exhibition opening and Community Walk

Windows on Queen is seventh cultural project developed under the name of QUEEN STREET RICHES AND TEXTURES which is an annual cultural initiative coordinated from St Marys Corner.

Windows on Queen celebrates the flavour of the history of the main street of St Marys. It has been developed as community art, engagement and historical research as well as art mentorship project from September 2017 to June 2018. As a result this engagement brings twelve artistic posters in the windows of commercial  buildings facing the Queen street with historical photographs of the same locations.  Interactive links from the posters bring viewers to project website to learn more about history of Queen Street and to listen interviews with local residents. The project was developed in collaboration between St Marys and District Historical Society, local community members and creative team of artists and designers and supported by Penrith City Council.
