Grab the kids and enjoy the free family fun day!

A cool change is coming to Penrith’s Australia Day celebration in 2020.

The new venue, Cables Wake Park, is one of Penrith’s favourite water sport and aquatic playground. It’s the perfect place to escape the hot summer heat, make a splash and hours of fun with your family and friends.


Get ready for a full day of water play with free wake boarding for kids over 10yrs and entry into the inflatable Aqua Park for kids over 6yrs from 10am-5pm. Wake boarding and Aqua Park sessions are 1-hour, spaces are limited and pre-registration is essential.

Little kids can also be part of the action at Cables Wake Park with a splash pad, water slides, jumping castle and a range of fun water activities for kids under 6yrs to enjoy throughout the day.


Pre-registration is essential for wakeboarding and Aqua Park sessions. Registration can be done directly through Cables Wake Park. You will need to enter the PROMO CODE: AUSDAY when making your booking to receive the free session.

Please print out and sign the waiver form after making your booking, and bring the waiver form with you on the day. Make sure you arrive 30 minutes before your session and don't forget to bring your printed ticket with you.


A DJ spinning tunes will provide a high-energy, fun soundtrack to the best day of the year and the entertainment will keep coming with two on-water stunt shows by Australia’s best wakeboarders.

You’ll need food to fuel you throughout the day. Bring a picnic and enjoy watching all the on-water action, or purchase something delicious to eat from one of the mobile food vendors on site including Outback Steakhouse.


Located in the heart of Penrith, the event is easy to get to with public transport options close by, parking on site and a free shuttle service from Jamison Park at Batt Street (near Netball Courts). The shuttle service will operate on a continuous loop throughout the day, starting at 9am and finishing at 6pm. 

Conditions of entry to Cables Wake Park include:

No smoking. No alcohol. No glass. No pets. No take-away food/drink. No skateboards, scooters, rollerblades or bikes. No aggressive behaviour. Children must be supervised at all times.

Plus, if you are keen for a swim you can dive into some fun at Ripples Leisure Centres with free entry to both Penrith and St Marys pools on Australia Day from 9am- 5pm.
