Sam Bucca is a prolific songwriter from Wiradjuri Country who effortlessly traverses melodic folk-punk and progressive hard rock. Possessing the storytelling skills of a savvy novelist, he delivers an acoustic punch in the face, protest-style akin to Billy Bragg. ‘Occasional unorthodoxy’ typifies Sam Bucca, offering a hybrid style—a lyrical pied piper who carries listeners along, transfixed by masterful lyricism and revealing revelations of inner growth coupled with societal progression. The Lithgow Valley artist commenced writing clever and wry political commentary some sixteen years ago with his track “Lead On”. His debut album “Grieve & Glorify [Again and Again…]” (2019) was closely followed by singles “You Are Free to Be” (2020) and “You’ll Find” (2022). Sam is an empath who’s genuinely interested in the human experience and everyday observations of how we manage our hearts in a brutal world.

ELLEN MARA BAND 7pm

Ellen Mara recently re-branded from solo artist to the “Ellen Mara Band” in preparation for the 2025 album release. Ellen felt compelled to capture the true essence of her project; a highly skilled, live performance-driven band of friends, with a unique fusion sound that is an authentic blend of Soul, R&B and Contemporary Jazz. Ellen still takes her place as the frontwoman, sharing her heartfelt life learnings through carefully crafted melodies, intricate arrangements and playful grooves, in collaboration with her partner/co-writer Will Sutcliffe and their talented band members. EMB has released the singles “Come In To Love” (2021), “Liquid Gold” (2022), “Fingertips” (2024) and their latest “Burnout”. They have earned a reputation in the Sydney live music scene for their captivating performances and high level of musicality.
