LinoCut Printmaking for Beginners

Have you ever wanted to explore the wonderful world of linocut printmaking?

This art form involves carving a deliciously sweet design into a linoleum plate, applying ink to the carved surface, and then transferring the design onto paper or other mediums through a printing process. Under the guidance of an our experienced instructor Alice, you will learn how to handle carving tools effectively and safely to create a detailed design. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this linocut workshop offers a structured and nurturing space to enhance your skills and expand your artistic horizons and create your one-of-a-kind print. By the time you finish you will be equipped with skills to confidently continue hand-printing simple images and designs in one colour on a range of surfaces, include paper and fabric.

The aim this workshop is to learn the techniques to ensure that you feel confident enough to continue your new found passion with lino printing after you leave this workshop. You’ll get to take home everything you produce – proofs, print editions and the blocks  you create your prints from. Think of all the things you could print on at home.
