Terrazzo Pot Making Workshop

Take your homewares up a notch with an "on trend" Terrazzo piece made by you!

We are so in love with terrazzo that we cant wait to share this process with our Penrith creative seekers!

In this workshop we will guide you through all the steps to make your Terrazzo Pot using Jesmonite. Jesmonite is a gypsum and acrylic based material, which is solvent-free and has no VOC's and is often called an eco resin

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  1. Learn how to mix and add colours to the Jesmonite to create your own choice of colour palette
  2. Create your coloured chips (maximum of 3 colours) that will go into your terrazzo mix
  3. Cast the materials into a silicon mould
  4. Once your piece is cured you will remove it from the mould, we will show you how to sand and seal your pot to ensure your terrazzo looks its best, we will supply you with the sandpaper to take home to finish your pot and proudly display it for all to see.

Please feel free to bring along a bottle of your favourite fizz to enjoy while we take you through the finishing process.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:

You may want to bring along any colour inspiration you or terrazzo references you have, we will have some on hand but since there are limitless possibilities it is a good idea to know what you like! And a bag to carry your work home.
We provide everything you need for the workshop including an apron to protect your clothes but it can get a bit messy so don't dress to impress.

SUITABLE FOR:

Perfect for beginners with no previous experience or skills required. All that you need is an open mind and a sense of adventure.

We believe craft is as much about creativity as it is about connection, in our workshops you have the opportunity to meet new friends, share a few stories, laugh with each other and simply enjoy some time out for yourself. Class sizes are always kept small so that participants will enjoy hands on assistance while you learn and create.

Jesmonite is considered safe by most experts. Its lightweight form does not emit toxic fumes, and there are no documented health risks associated with Jesmonite, we recommend pregnant women check with their health care professional before working with any chemicals

Join us for a fabulous night of creativity!
