Western Sydney Stargazing

Guided Astronomy sessions with an experienced astronomer

Western Sydney Stargazing offers small group tours of the night sky from the grounds of the Arms of Australia Inn Museum in Emu Plains.

Tours are open to individuals, families, and groups with no prior knowledge of astronomy – just a healthy interest in space.

During one of the tours, participants will be led by an experienced guide through an exploration of the night sky using a state-of-the-art telescope. Participants will be able to see (depending upon the time of year) such things as the craters of the moon, Jupiter and its moons, Saturn and its rings, binary stars, clusters of stars, galaxies, and nebulae.

The guide will lead the group through each of the targets using both the telescope and some ‘naked eye’ observing, provide details of what is being observed, and give insights into many more of the wondrous things that can be seen in the night sky. Tours are limited to 20 people.

Western Sydney Stargazing can also come to you. Guides and equipment can be hired for such things as School groups, Scout/Youth camps, birthday parties, corporate events, marriage proposals, and other similar occasions and events.

General astronomy sessions are held throughout the year – mainly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Additional sessions will depend upon demand.

Western Sydney Stargazing also offers bookings for private groups (minimum 10 people).
