Major events served up in Penrith this weekend

If you’re going to one of the three major events in Penrith this weekend, plan your travel ahead of time so you don’t miss a moment of the action.
The Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC) is hosting the annual music festival Defqon. 1 from Saturday through to Sunday. Transport and parking information for this event can be found here. If you’re travelling around Penrith, avoid Castlereagh Road near SIRC to avoid potential delays.
The Matildas vs Brazil game at Pepper Stadium is at 3pm on Saturday 16 September. Public transport and parking information for this venue can be found here. Roads surrounding the venue will be busy in the lead up to the game, avoid using these roads if possible. Free but limited parking is available within the grounds of the Panthers World of Entertainment, opposite the stadium on Mulgoa Rd. Further public parking is available in areas surrounding the stadium including:
• Penrith Cricket Club – $4.00, entry off Station St
• Penrith Paceway - $5.00, entry off Ransley St
The Penrith Tennis International will be held at the Nepean District Tennis Association located at the corner of Castlereagh and High St, Penrith. This event runs from 16-24 September. This venue has limited free parking (approx. 80 car spots) and there is also the free Council car part adjacent which has approx. 100 car spots – both car parks accessed via Castlereagh St. The nearest train station is Penrith Train Station which is a 10 minute walk from the venue, approx. 1.5km.
