Discover all the great markets happening across Penrith this month; take a stroll through the stalls and pick yourself up something unique. You deserve it.
Penrith Panthers hosts the Aussie Night Markets every Wednesday in August from 5-9pm. This weekly event is a fusion of flavours, aromas and sounds as more than 45 food stalls dish up flavours form across the world. There are also colourful and creative displays of local arts, craft and produce to buy. No need to cook on Wednesdays, just swing past and grab yourself something delicious for dinner. You’re guaranteed to find something else to buy while you’re there.
This lively mid-week market is one of the most popular markets in Penrith. Featuring a diverse range of stallholders from across the region, stroll around and you’re bound to snag yourself a bargain. You’ll find clothes for all ages and sizes, tools, souvenirs, collectables, homewares, jewellery and so much more. Penrith Showground Markets is on each Wednesday in August from 8.30am - 1.30pm at the Penrith Showground.
This country market in the beautiful town of Mulgoa is held on the first Sunday of each month. There are around 65 market stalls for you to discover whilst listening to live music played by local musicians and singers. It’s a great day out for the whole family or a group of friends; grab a spot on a picnic rug and have a bite for breakfast, lunch or brunch from some of the delicious food stalls. The Mulgoa Country Market is on Sunday 5 August from 9am-2pm.
Just as the name suggests, the Emu Craft Market is made up of stallholders selling arts and crafts which they’ve lovingly made. This is where you’ll pick up something a little bit different, that perfect gift you’ve been looking for, something nobody else has. It’s held at the Nepean Creative & Performing Arts High School on the second Saturday of each month, so make sure you’re there on Saturday 11 August.
The Werrington Festival on Saturday 18 August is an annual event held at the Namatjira Neighbourhood Centre in Werrington County. It’s a free event with lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy including a petting zoo, pony rides, motorised go carts, and jumping castles and craft activities. There’s also a bunch of market stalls run by local businesses, so you just never know what you’re going to find.
The Westies Market has everything you need for a perfect Sunday; shopping, eating, live music, meeting friends and making new ones. It offers, handmade, one off fashion items and home wares, freshly made ready to eat gourmet treats as well as delicious food to take home (even better, no need to cook!).
