Centenary of Armistice

To commemorate the centenary of the Armistice that ended the First World War

100 years ago on the 11th November 1918, the Armistice was signed to end World War 1. Penrith will be holding a special once in a lifetime event to remember and celebrate this Centenary.

The day will be full of amazing elements that the whole community can enjoy. It will begin with a Freedom of the City hand-over, starting at 8am, with Army, Police and Local Government this will then be followed by a parade and service at 10.30am including a fly-over by local Richmond Base.

The incredible Poppy Park will be rebuilt for one day only and the Army will re-enact a bridge building venture. A Matilda Tank, driven all the way from Gilgandra will be on display as will be ex-military and vintage vehicles. There will be scores of displays, tasty food trucks, and fantastic entertainment for all.
