Mountain Culture comes to Penrith
Penrith welcomes a fourth craft beer brewery!
If you’re a craft beer lover you’re probably familiar with the brews created by Mountain Culture Beer Co. But did you know that the Katoomba institution now has a production centre and bar right here in Penrith?
Established in Katoomba in 2017 by Harriet and DJ McCready, Mountain Culture opened its Emu Plains facility, The Factory, in October 2022. With their Katoomba Brewpub cornering the historic makeover market, The Factory brings the production process into the public bar – which means (on Fridays) you get to watch the brewers do what they do best while you sit back and enjoy a cold one or two.
The team at Mountain Culture lives and breathes by one question – how can we brew a beer even better than the last? Visitors to The Factory in Emu Plains get to taste the answer to that question as it’s poured from one of 20 (yes, that’s right, 20!) taps. Alongside the Mountain Culture core range, you can try a rotating list of limited releases which are a great way to keep both regulars and the brew staff happy.
But it’s not just about beer. You can also enjoy wine by the glass, non-alcoholic options (think soft drinks, locally made kombucha, juice and ginger beer), as well as gluten-free beer and alcoholic and non-alcoholic cider. Then there’s the food. The team from Little Sauce Co hand make and cook delicious pizzas to order onsite.
The Factory at Emu Plains is open for take away and dine in on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the outside area, complete with lawn games and umbrella covered seating, makes it the perfect place to set up with your little ones – both the human and four-legged kind.
