Make a splash with water sports for all ages

Temperatures are on the rise which is why we’ve put together a list of Penrith’s best water based adventures to help you cool off this summer.
For the adrenaline junkies
Jet Pack Adventures
Where else can you strap on a jetpack and rocket metres into the sky? Jet Pack Adventures gives flyers the chance to jetpack or hoverboard above the waters of the Sydney Olympic Games Rowing venue. Challenge your mates and take on this truly brag worthy challenge.
Cables Wake Park
Wakeboard alongside the pros right here in Penrith! One of Australia’s only wake boarding parks, Cables provides a professionally supervised course for beginners through to all-stars to learn, practice and execute some killer wake and knee boarding moves.
Penrith Whitewater Stadium
This one will really get your heart racing. Home of the Sydney Olympic canoe and kayak slalom events, Penrith Whitewater is the ultimate skill tester. Raft like a world champ or get wet trying as you race through the rapids with friends.
Jet and water-skiing
Dust off those water skis and fuel up your ‘jets’, the Nepean River is THE place to get out on the water this summer. With stunning views of the Blue Mountains and a broad expanse of river to explore, it doesn’t get better than this. Plus getting on the river is even easier with a brand new boat ramp, ample parking and thriving East Bank Dining Precinct just metres from the boat launch.
For those wanting to relax and unwind
SUP and kayak
De-stress after the madness of December with a relaxing stand up paddleboard or kayak along the Nepean River. Take in the sights of the Blue Mountains as you adventure into the Nepean Gorge as a group or solo. Morning is the best time to enjoy the river and the sounds of native birdlife. Hire is available from Horizon Line at Emu Plains who will provide you with the best advice for getting on the river.
For the kids
Cables Aqua Park
Sit back and relax while the kids take on the giant water wonderland at Cables. Suitable for kids aged 6 and over, Cables Aqua Park is comprised of a series of inflatable slides, runways, jumping pillows and obstacles. Plus under 6s can enjoy the separate wet play area free of charge.
Ripples Leisure Centres, Penrith and St Marys
No pool, no worries, Penrith has two fantastic swimming facilities to help keep the kids cool and entertained this summer. Get their friends together and make a date to splash out at St Marys or Penrith, with pools for all abilities and a splash park (including slides!) for added fun.
