How to plan the perfect Valentine's Day

The month of love is here and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!

The love experts from Visit Penrith have some LOVE-ly suggestions to win you some serious brownie points from your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day. So grab your lover and prepare to whisk them off their feet in Penrith.

1. Get outdoors Rock Lookout 1

There is nothing quite like starting a summer day with your love exploring the great outdoors! Kick start Valentine’s Day with one of Penrith’s most popular walks, the Rock Lookout at Mulgoa to enjoy stunning views of each other, and also of the Nepean River Gorge and Blue Mountains. If you are after a scenic walk that takes a little longer, Mountainview Reserve at Cranebrook is a 30-40 minute loop with a viewing platform overlooking Penrith Lakes and Blue Mountains.Or enjoy the 5km track around the competition lake at the Sydney International Regatta Centre or the 7km bridge to bridge walk at the Nepean River followed by a cheeky brunch and coffee at the Café at Lewers or The East Bank Nepean River Restaurants.

Still not sure? A comprehensive list of trails, the Hike, Bike and Fitness Trails Map (pdf 1.3MB) shows 26 locations to explore throughout the Penrith Local Government Area (LGA).

2. Try something a little different together

If you are a couple who love trying new things together, create a Valentine’s Day you both won't forget!

Grab your tickets to Couples Axe Throwing at Throw Axe, including a session for two, drink on arrival and a gift for all the ladies. Love really is in the air, and all around you both with iFLY Indoor Skydiving Valentines Day Special for 2 people. Not ready for skydiving? Slow down and enjoy some creative time together with a paintbrush and a glass of your favourite with paint your ani-mate" session at Pinot & Picasso Penrith or the “Star Gazing Lovers Lane – GLOW IN THE DARK session with Paint and Sip Studios.  Or if solving puzzles is more your style, Narrow Escape Rooms offer a challenging game in a themed room with the goal to achieve the mission and 'escape' by solving clues.

Bookings essential

3. Book a romantic dinner Avli Blog DNSWcredit

Skip the meal prep (but not the flowers!) and book a romantic dinner for two! The hardest part is choosing where to take your Valentine as there are so many delicious places offering Valentine’s Day menus and specials including:

A 6 course fiesta at Checho’s, 3 course meal at Lakeside Restaurant or Italian Street Kitchen, sunset views, dinner and drinks at Theos Rooftop Bar, rib tower for two at Lonestar Rib House and Brews, traditional Greek menu to share at Avli Restaurant or something very special at AG Bar & Restaurant and more.

Please book any cafés/ restaurants ahead of time.

 4. Stay the night

What's more romantic than a night away from the kids or even just somewhere that isn’t your own home? After a love filled day, whisk your significant other away for the night at one of Penrith’s places to stay. Located in the heart of Western Sydney and at the foot of the Blue Mountains, Penrith has a range of hotels and accommodations to suit all budgets.
